Smart Ticketing Alliance is hiring!

The Smart Ticketing Alliance (STA), founded in 2015, drives a coordinated effort towards global ticketing interoperability for the public transport sector. This includes the establishment of a trust scheme that mirrors the schemes used in the mobile phone industry, banking sector and with other stakeholders. Main goals of the alliance are:

  • Cooperation between national and regional Smart Ticketing schemes to establish interoperable Smart Ticketing in Europe and elsewhere.
  • Develop, agree and publish the functional and technical requirements for smart ticketing interoperability
  • Cooperation for the establishment of Trust Schemes, Specifications and Certification
  • Cooperation with other European and International bodies to promote interoperability in Smart Ticketing

The Smart Ticketing Alliance is currently looking for

 STA MANAGER

for a 24 months part-time contract with possibility to extend it. The position is opened ideally to self-employed and consultants and it requires partial presence of the manager in house in UITP offices in Brussels during the duration of the contract. The presence plan can be negotiated. The STA Manager will directly report to the Chairman of the Executive Board.

MAIN DUTIES

The Manager will be responsible for leading and coordinating all the activities linked to the management of the association.

The mission consists in supporting STA Executive Board and members to adopt a modern and innovative management that help positioning the Alliance as global reference for trust in ticketing.
This position implies leadership, consensus-building and diplomatic skills in a sensitive environment to conciliate the different interests of the actors to move positions forward in line with the association’s and sector’s strategies.

RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Administrative work

  • preparation, minutes, follow-ups for official meetings (e.g. board meeting)
  • accounting work (support to treasurer)
  • general assembly (preparation, minutes, follow-ups)
  • official reports
  • legal work

2. Working groups

  • coordination of working groups
  • progress reporting to the Executive Board
  • support in editing papers
  • reminding the working groups

3. Support for the board

  • personal assistant for the chairman or the vice chairman (agenda, documents for meetings etc.)
  • preparing reports for the board

4. Communications

  • communications (leaflets, brochures, website, newsletter etc.)
  • public relations
  • brand management
  • cooperation with WG communication

5. Membership care

  • administration
  • service for the members
  • networking
  • acquire new members

Profile

  • University degree (preferably in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent)
  • Good knowledge of all modes of transport and ticketing
  • Strong communication skills with capacity to produce and write reports but also to animate a group of experts and synthetise the knowledge
  • Networking skills
  • Excellent written and spoken English, other languages are an asset
  • Oral communication skills and ability to communicate clearly and effectively to an audience
  • Capability to work both in team but also autonomously with limited set of inputs
  • IT literate
  • Good relational competences (sense of listening, empathy, ability to lead group discussion, team work)
  • Service oriented
  • Sense of initiative, problems solving
  • Ability to travel and to work under pressure
  • Integrity and professionalism
