Join Our Working Groups
The Smart Ticketing Alliance (STA) works with key stakeholders to create smart, sustainable solutions for integrated mobility ticketing across Europe. Our working groups bring together experts who meet regularly - virtually or in person - to develop standards and publish key papers that shape the use of seamless, interoperable ticketing.
Despite free movement within the EU, there is currently no single ticketing system that allows borderless travel between Member States. The STA plays a key role in defining the functional and technical requirements needed to make this a reality, promoting common rules and regulations to enable true interoperability.
Our influence extends through active participation in prominent bodies and committees, such as the EU Commission's Multimodal Passenger Mobility Forum and the NFC Forum, where we represent our members and share the progress of our working groups.
STA members can join working groups on topics such as Account-Based Ticketing (ABT) and Certification, where their expertise helps to develop smart ticketing across Europe.
Account Based Ticketing
ABT is transforming the way passengers pay for public transport, enabling them to use a single account seamlessly across multiple transport modes.
The STA is leading the charge in developing a unified vision for ABT, aiming to create a level playing field in public transport and avoid fragmented implementations across regions.
National Digital Ticketing
Our latest initiative, the National Digital Ticketing Working Stream, underscores our commitment to addressing the evolving trends in digital ticketing.
This working stream aims to gather insights and foster discussions on key topics that shape the future of national digital ticketing. Join the conversation.
